Ever since I can remember, I have loved villains more than superheroes. Their characters have always seemed more real, and more believable. Maybe I just don’t believe that someone can be wholly good. Does that make me a pessimist? Perhaps. In TV shows and films, being a villain has also given the actors, script writers and directors more to play with. There’s fewer constraints, because they are supposed to be evil anyway.

My Favourite Superheroes

So these are all going to be pretty cliche, because I tend to stick to the same superhero films and I’ve never really read any comics about superheroes either. I have plenty of heroes that others may not have heard of, but a superhero is something more specific. So here goes.

Professor X

Charles Francis Xavier. I think his powers are awesome (albeit terrifying), and I love that he uses them for good. Especially when it comes to running his private school and teaching other ‘mutants’ how to manage their powers.

Thor

I must admit, this one is slightly biased towards Chris Hemsworth. In fact, I couldn’t even tell you one thing about his actual character that stands out to me, except for his looks. I shall just continue looking.

Iron Man

I love Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man. How hilarious is he! Stepping back from the actor though, what intrigues me most about Iron Man is how his brain works, and how he is able to invent all those gadgets and gizmos and other wonders.

Thing

Poor Ben Grimm. Few people see past his outer shell to see the person inside. He’s just a big softy really isn’t he. Big hearted, loyal, and there to help whoever and whenever he can.

Black Widow

I had to throw a woman in there somewhere. Black Widow is awesome, especially played by Scarlett Johanson. I’d love to have her skills as a gymnast, and the ability to heal at such a rate. Her mind is quite astounding too, and she makes a brilliant tactician and strategist.

My Favourite Villains

This is my favourite bit! I do love a good villain, and you will find them in a vast majority of stories.

Gru

We’re talking about Despicable Me of course! Gru isn’t your average villain, and I think he’s pretty misunderstood. He tries so hard to be bad, but really all he wants is a bit of love and attention.

Negan

See my previous post to understand more about why I love Negan! I think he is such a strong character, and I love his sense of humour and the way his mind works. I honestly think he’s the only thing keeping The Walking Dead together at the moment. Although we’ll see with this next series! (Eagerly anticipated!)

Don Logan

From Sexy Beast. This guy is mad. This guy is hilarious. This guy is perfect. Nuff said.

Magneto

I love Magneto’s super powers, and I love the way that he is actually there to help out when needed. He doesn’t completely let his friends down…not all of the time. Plus Sir Ian McKellen makes Magneto even more awesome.

Missy

Hey Missy you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind, hey Missy! I get this stuck in my head every time I think of her. We’re talking Doctor Who here, and she has been one of my favourite characters. I’m going to miss her greatly!

…and one last one

Deadpool

I can’t quit decide which category he fits in. Maybe both, maybe neither. Either way, he is frickin hilarious.

Who are your favourites?! Let me know below!
