I love Autumn. I love the colours; the way the leaves crunch under foot. I love the freshness in the air; losing my hands in the long sleeves of a cosy jumper.
I can forgive the season its short days, wind and rain; it redeems itself with its crisp smell and promise of event gs wrapped up in a blanket.
This year, Autumn is even more spectacular. This year, I have someone to watch playing in the crinkling leaves; marvelling at their textures and colours.
He’s not quite at the stage where he can run through the heaps, kicking them into the air; that will be next year’s excitement.
For now though, I shall take what I can get; a fast-paced crawl and a look of wonder.
